Are we aware of any source at all for (red) decals for streamlined Frisco passenger cars? Oddball used to produce a set that had the road name but not the car names, and Champ once made a Texas Special set, but I am not aware of any other source. Anybody else know of anything else?

Walthers used to make a red Frisco set with car names, car types (Pullman, railway post office, etc.), numbers, and FRISCO. Bobbye Hall included a full set with her cars, and she may have sold separate sets as well.

An eBay seller used to sell the leftover HO Hallmark Texas Special (and maybe Meteor) decals (The seller was "cantonchick" or something to that effect). She sold RR items for the widow of Dean Hale who had worked for Hall's. I never bought the decals because I model in N scale. I did buy a nice grab bag of RR photos from her.

Unless you can find someone else (Besides Oddballs himself) who has a stash of those decals, it's going to be like throwing money down a black hole dealing with him!

To Karl and gbnf who were kind enough to respond, I have one or two of the old Walthers sets. These are VERY old and the film is discolored. I doubt there are any other sets rattling around that are any better, primarily due to age. Walthers went out of the decal business a LONG time ago. The Oddball set referenced (I have that, too) does not have car names for lightweight cars. As you might imagine, this makes modeling the streamliners difficult to impossible. Short of having sets made up, I think I am pretty much outta luck.

I'm feeling lucky that I stocked up with some sets of Oddballs N scale decals before the business went south. It was at my suggestion that he started to produce his Frisco passenger car set in red. Up to that time he only did the set in the "dulux" (or imitation) gold.
If there are any N scalers that are looking for Texas Special decals, a fellow in Colorado named Kelly Justice (Or Justus??) has a fairly pricey set for Texas Special engines and lightweight cars. He had his sets made by a professional decal service and that artwork might be able to be used to produce HO sets?? Kelly and the decal service might be researched on Google?? It's been two or three years since I did my own search and I don't have the address any more. When we finally get some decals, all we need is for a manufacturer to ACTUALLY PRODUCE a Texas Special and/or Meteor TRAIN! I'd like to see Kato produce a Texas Special and/or Meteor--wishful thinking...

Sorry I'm not Karl or gbnf but would these work for you?

The decals that Timothy is posting will work. Just be sure to use Microscale liquid decal film per the instructions. I used it on my Champ, and Hallmark decals to reletter some of my Hallmark TS and Meteor passenger cars.

I am away from home at the moment, but I think I have the Walthers set (positive), the Champ TS set (pretty sure), and the Oddballs set (pretty sure). I don't need any of them - in fact, I put them up for sale a year or so earlier and nobody was interested. I think the Walthers set is in fairly good shape as I have stored it correctly since i've had it. I also have red Katy decals for these cars (Walthers), plus a good selection of Walthers Frisco and Katy herald decals..

I'll be back home in a few days and can provide specific details then.
