What recommendation does everyone have regarding current control (short protection) devices for DCC? I know Digitrax offers their PM42. DCC Specialties has the PSX series Circuit Breakers. Any others? Recommendations based on use?
Looking at the NCE web site: CP6. Controls 6 sections of you layout, and works with any system. http://www.ncedcc.com/index.php?pag...&category_id=1&option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=1
When it comes to these kind of devices, I tend to stay away from things like the Digitrax PM42, because it requires loconet to configure fully (and I don't use a Loconet based system). The PSX series devices are good. I have a set of these in a box I take to shows. NCE has an EB1 and EB3. I've used the EB3, and it works pretty well. Incidentally, the CP6 that Ethan mentioned is a current limiting device based on the automotive light bulb idea. It is not short protection. Paul
