    There are some great rare photos of the Frisco in 1944 around Van Burean, Ft. Smith, Monett, & Springfield.

    Trains shown are #1031 "The Firefly", #1053, #1343 & 1335 Doubleheading, #4500 "The Meteor", and finally #4303.

    It is a good article and gives some exposure to a part of the Frisco that received very little. The action shot of the 4200 class is a rarity. It's a shame more folks didn't shoot those engines in action.
