The caboose was constructed in 1937 by American Car and Foundry (ACF) for the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad. On that line the caboose was numbered ATSF 1632. This is one of the former Santa Fe 1600 series cabooses.

The Frisco acquired this caboose 9/1969 and several others from the Santa Fe in the late 1960s to replace its older wood side cabooses. This caboose was designated for local service.

The caboose is located in an industrial park on the northeast side of Denver, CO. The area is switched by the terminal short line Denver Rock Island Railroad. The car has moved and switched around the industrial area. Anyone with current ownership or location information is encouraged to contribute.

As of 5/15/2010 the car has been relocated from its former site at 4742 Forest St. It is now parked just north of I-70, Exit 277 (west bound only), at the end of a spur track at the east end of the terminal railway Denver Rock Island Railroad yard. The car has an electrical connection tether to a junction box on the north side of the track.

The car location address is 6635 North Stapleton Drive, Denver, CO.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!
