    Jim,
I used sheet metal on my West Bottoms. It came in a fifty foot roll at Home Depot, my memory is about $50. The good points; lighter than masonite, easy to cut with shears, works well around corners, it you roll blue paint on it some of the white shows through, not just solid blue. The cons, seams hard to hide, one person can have trouble laying out long piece, I worked in about 12 foot sections leaving about four seams. I do remember a Trains of Thought column some time back where Tony Koester was having a problem with masonite seams showing after some time and finally decided to just live with it.

By the way, really admire your work.

Thanks, John. I punked out and used 1/2" foam board. Not exactly the best in tight corners but okay for gentle curves. I'm also going to use foam board for my valance.
