Managed to get the marker lamps on and weathered it up a bit.

The shades are just pieces of plain paper painted an off white.

Weathered with chalks and thin paints sprayed on, runs really smooth and quiet.

    These are fantastic.

I have the same locomotive and would like to add sound along with similar details.

The inside is different than the old Atlas RS-2.

On that one I managed to mill down the weights.

Any tips here for speaker placement?

    Keith, make an enclosure?

    Robert,

I used a sugar cube speaker and placed it on the weight without milling it, secured with Kapton tape.

There is no room for a Soundtraxx Keep Alive, it is too big. However, I used the capacitor that came with the decoder. I was able to fit that in there.

It was a very tight fit to get everything in that RS-1.

Also, you have to cut the plastic headlight lens on both ends to make it all fit in!

    Robert,

I have a Low/Narrow Sweet Sound Speaker that fits nicely on a milled down front weight.

The capacitor for a Tsunami TSU-AT1000 decoder will fit next to it.

Or, if you use a new TSU-PNP Alc0 decoder you can use my Low/Wide Sweet Sound Speaker in the same location.
