I have handrails that need replacing for the Alco FA and FB units. Has anyone experienced with these fragile handrails breaking beyond repair? It appears that Walthers does not have a replacement parts for these.

John, I've not experienced what you've noted, but I could see where it would easily happen. I have a little P2K ATSF zebra-striped switcher of some sort where the single-chime horn is made of the similar material. This ham-handed modeler must have nudged it too much, and now it sags very noticeably.

It sounds like removing them all and replacing with appropriately-sized brass or piano wire might be in order.

    Good luck!

    Best Regards,

John, I have one unit that needs handrail replacements. At some time I will make new ones with brass wire.
