I downloaded this photograph some years ago of a string of 6 wood cupola cabooses which were obviously sold to the Pacific Great Eastern (PGE) Railroad.

I have no idea if they still exist.

Frisco also sold a couple of cabooses to the Santa Maria Valley (SMV) Railroad in Santa Maria, CA.

I think one of them was recently restored.

    Frisco lives on.

Edit 5/14/2024: The two Frisco caboose numbers are unknown that were sold to the Santa Maria Valley (SMV) Railroad. Both cars has sloped side wood copulas. They were sold to the railroad in the 1950s.

On that railroad they were numbered SMV 180 and SMV 190. Both cabooses were retired by the railroad and set aside in 1962. SMV 190 was dismantled by the railroad and scrapped.

Caboose SMV 180 was sold to Betteravia Farms in the early 1980s. It was donated to the Santa Maria Valley Railway Historical Museum (SMVRHM) in December 2000.

Restoration work by museum volunteers began in 2001. Work was completed in 2004, and the car was moved to the museum on 9/2/2004.

The caboose can be viewed the Santa Maria Transit Center, Santa Maria, CA.

Added details of the Santa Maria Valley Railroad cabooses and current status.
