My name is Brett. I was born and raised in Wichita, KS, and went to school in Valley Center, KS (for a few years just blocks from the BN (ex-Frisco) branchline to Ellsworth). While the BN/SLSF merger may have been years before I was born, I have taken an interest to the railroads that did/do have track in and around Wichita and South-Central Kansas (I'd even like to know more about the Kansas City, Mexico, and Orient, but thats probably a different railroad forum). One interesting thing about the Frisco around here is that most of their track has been removed, and one of my odd obsessions is looking around at Google Maps, then later traversing the local city streets, and trying to figure out whats still in place and what has been pulled. My main reason to join this forum is to have access to the posted attachments, especially the bits and pieces of timetables (I've reacently discovered how cool old railroad timetables can be).
Welcome to the forum Brett. I also enjoy looking for remnants of the old Frisco right of ways in my area(southeast Missouri). It's kind of like archeology.
Welcome aboard Brett. Always glad to see young people who are interested in RR's and history. Hope that you are a modeler too!
Howdy Brett. There are a few Frisco fans from the ICT in here, me being one of them. If you got Frisco Wichita related questions (as well as Orient questions), I will try my best to answer them. Codeman
