This was the locomotive in which I took my very first cab ride, on the Ft. Smith night switch job in 1980. One of the brakemen was a member of the local model RR club I was in, and invited me to ride along. It was informative and enjoyable, and the highlight was ridiing the rear walkway as the train rambled north from the KCS interchange back to the yard on a worm, clear, starry night.
