Wood Pile Trestle - Bridge 38.4 - Festus, MO, MP 38.9 - St. Louis Subdivision At Festus, MO, just East of Interstate 55 (I-55). There was another smaller trestle towards the power pole that was for a spur track that served a Union Electric shop with power poles. Edit 2/1/2024: The wood ballast deck pile trestle (BDPT) consists of five panels, resting on four 6 pile bents and the two end abutments. Bridge length is 66'-0". The bridge has been replaced by a 3 panel ballast deck segmental pre-stressed reinforced concrete trough span on 2 steel pile concrete capped piers. Note the north (left) pier has twin steel piles. The bridge ends rest on segmental concrete abutments. Fall protection is provided by segmental two horizontal rail galvanized steel guardrails.
