Wichita, KS, Wichita Union Station depot. 1903, 1914 and 1935 Sanborn maps Edit 3.18.2024: The Frisco depot address was 827 East Douglas Street, Wichita, KS. One block to the west is the Rock Island depot at 729 East Douglas Street. In 1914 Wichita Union Station depot was constructed at 715 East Douglas Street to the west of the Rock Island depot. Both of the later depots remain in use as commercial retail, office and restaurant spaces. MKD
Wichita Union Station, Wichita, Kansas. This photograph shows Union Station in Wichita, Kansas. The facility was built in cooperation with the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific (CRIP) Railroad, St. Louis-San Francisco (SLSF) Railway, and the Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe (ATSF) Railway Company. The depot opened in 1914. The Wichita Union Terminal Company handled daily operations. The station was designed by Kansas City architect Louis Curtiss.
