    Howdy,

I am reading the Pullman Standard Car specifications for passenger cars and see a spec that reads like this: "Ceiling Color for entire car: Light Gray, C&D 15-E-45". Can anyone tell me what C&D 15-E-45 is? How could we find out exactly what color it is or match it with our hobby paints?

    Best Regards,
    mike

    Thanks Bob,

I thought it might be a shop reference, but paint makes sense. It would be nice to get color chips for the different paints used inside passenger cars.

    Best Regards,

Are you sure it said "C&D" and not "CED"? Many Pullman Company exterior paint schemes were identified with the prefix CED followed by, usually, four numbers. These are all identified in a file at the Pullman Project web site. There is no similar listing of interior colors, so don't know if the format such as 8-C-45 is used or not. I am away from home this week, but if you have not gotten a definitive answer by the time I return, I'll ask Tom Madden if he has any data on interior paint.
