In the new September 2011 On-Line Flyer, Walthers has announced an April 2012 delivery of the Pullman-Standard 85 foot Pullman-Standard 10-5 Sleeper without skirts in the silver and red scheme lettered for the Pennsylvania Railroad for Frisco Run-Through service. Part# 920-15204. Joe Toth
That car has been out for a couple of years. The Walthers' flyer seems to be advertising it as something new?? Maybe just new number and higher price? http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/932-6753 Tom
This car is only correct for the PRR run through 10-5 sleeper and not Frisco 14-4 sleeper or Texas Special 14-4. To get the correct Frisco sleeper you have to get the brass Hallmark or Overland or car sides. mktjames
Herkimer aluminum passenger cars are still manufactured by OK Engines and they will custom stamp any window design in their cars! The HO version is available. O scale Pullman-Standard stainless steels are not yet in production. Besides Texas Special, I am looking to obtain a model of the L&N, nee-NC&St.L sleeper Florida Surf. It was once owned by Tampa´s Chester Holley, who ran a train shop in the same tradition that Bobbye Hall did in Dallas. They were good friends. The car probably never ran on the TS but the joy of model railroading is of course it can on my version. It can also melt under a hot Texas sun! Joe Toth
