Edit 3/31/2024: Several interesting details in this photograph.

The depot is one of the Armco brand metal modular component replacement depots. In this case it has been jazzed up with a half wall height water mark brick course.

On the end eve is one of the newer design station signs. The design is durable porcelain enamel on metal. These were common on the replacement depots.

The signs have a base background color of brown maroon with white letters. This design was intended to reduce cost, maintenance and the need for repainting.

Just outside the personnel door is a train order stand. To its left is a crook arm light with shade for illumining the area.

Hanging on the light support pole is a white weigh bill box. It was used to pass information and messages between the agent operator and train crews when the agency was closed.

The round corrugated structure near the left edge of the image is a telephone call box for contacting the dispatcher if the agent is not on duty.

Postcard view of the Parker Plaza and Harvey House, Vinita, Okla.

The Frisco depot is to the west, left in this image.

Edit 3/31/2024: The Frisco depot, park fountain and Harvey House restaurant and rooming house in the postcard view clearly show on the Sanborn map post in this thread.

    View looking north.
