Hi everyone, Just wanted to let you know that on Monday November 4th the historic Sullivan Hotel in Newburg will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. It has been fully restored (see photo) and remodeled inside and out. However, it suffered water damage from flood waters in August when 6 feet of water surged down First Street. Also the Houston House suffered from water damage during the same flood surge. About 2 feet of water made it into the Houston House and ruined the antique wood flooring. It damaged the furniture and put an end to the Thursday soup kitchen. It is now closed indefinitely until money can be raised for repairs. One final note, the Newburg Fire Dept. has been discontinued due to damage sustained to their fire trucks during the August floods. We now are using the Doolittle Fire Protection District for our fire dept. Newburg sure is not doing to well fellas, it's dying but not quite dead yet. George
