Ok I have to admit, not only am I a FRISCO fan, I am also an ELVIS fan. Anyway, I was watching a video my wife bought me which was the story of ELvis' life called "This is Elvis" and when it shows the part where he was a boy in Memphis. They show the FRISCO yard and there are FRISCO cars sitting there. Just had to share. I tried to get car numbers but they are really hard to see.

Elvis was afraid of flying and took the train whenever possible--He rode the Sunnyland and Kansas City-Florida Special frequently on his trips to california.

OK, Girls & Guys .... Long live the KING. This absolutely has nothing to do with railroading, but it's a good place for a story from many years back.
In the mid 50's I was visiting my cousins, Jimmy, Barbara, and Joe, who lived in Shreveport about a block from a stop on the trolley line at a corner drug store which had a soda fountain and sandwich shop. One day we were coming back from a movie and Elvis was hanging around the store waiting on a neighbor to come home from work. We had no idea who he was, only that he had a guitar and was wearing a dirty tee shirt and jeans. This neighbor was someone who was either a musician or a promoter at the Louisiana Hay Ride. ( I want to think I remember that he was a drummer - pretty sure)

He and Elvis would sit on his porch two doors down the street and play for hours and we would hang out there listening to them.

Barbara was really a beautiful girl bout 15-16 at the time. Anyway, my Aunt Gracie threw a fit one day and told us all that she didn't want us hanging out with them anymore. I remember her words just as clear as yesterday, ....
"THAT BOY AN'T NOTHING BUT WHITE TRASH AND WILL NEVER AMOUNT TO ANYTHING."
My cousins and I have had many laughs over the years, and we always talk about it whenever we are together.
