Can anyone come up with examples of the use of switchbacks to climb hills on the Frisco? This question arose while discussing a switchback mine spur on the Mansfield Branch in Sebastian County, AR. A quick check of Frisco.org provided what might be two more examples, at Osceola and Kansas City. I know there were mainline examples, but only as temporary track to cross mountains that were being tunneled through. John Dill
There has been discussion about the Fairgrounds Branch Switchback in the past here: http://www.frisco.org/shipit/index.php?threads/fairground-branch-switchbacks.13071/
