GE motor 2102 was rebuilt extensively during 1924, and it is the only GE car that I can find with a RPO section.
This floor plan is very interesting. Looking for information on Texas Midland (TM) Railroad # 5001 & # 5002. The cars provided service Dallas to Paris, TX. The start of service was 1912-1913. TMRR joined joined and operated over the Frisco Line at Paris, Texas. The 70 feet floor plan could handle 100 passengers. You are saying car was rebuilt in 1924. The TMRR car would do 65 MPH on level tangent track
I don't know the manufacturers of these cars one from the other, but here is a train show photograph of motor SLSF 2124 with a 15' RPO section. The car also has a Railway Express Agency (REA) / baggage section. Photographer, date and location unknown. Tom
I am going to Terrell, TX this weekend for Heritage Days, at Ben Gill Park. I want to see if I can peak inside Colonel Green's executive Pullman Car # 993 at the park. I have a feeling it will be open for visitation. I will snap some photographs. Maybe I can run some more information down. Thanks!
I went to Terrell's Heritage Days. Went inside wooden executive business lounge #993, El Paso. It is former Texas and New Orleans (T&NO), circa late 1880s. I have great shots, This car traveled the Frisco System back in the day.
That probably is the only Motorcar with an RPO section. Most of the motorcars were all passenger, with an RPO/baggage car trailer coupled to it.
There might be a bit of hyperbole in that statement. Only three of the Frisco's Bull Mooses were configured for passengers only. The first was the JLC&E's 6-chair, rail bus. The St Louis Car Company built, EMC-powered SLSF 2127 and SLSF 2128 rounded out the passenger-only cars. Everything else was a combination vehicle of some sort.
Thanks for the correction. I was single mindedly going off the information that I know about the passenger service to Hugo, OK. I did not take into effect the whole Frisco system. If anyone has information that will better verse me on this topic, it will be greatly appreciated.
