Caboose 1232 at Seneca has been sold and it will move to Tulsa to be on display with 1249 from Leon Kansas. 1249 will be restored to the red and white paint scheme and 1232 will be restored to the caboose red "ship it on the Frisco" paint. Hopefully both cabooses will be in Tulsa before summer. 1232 is in very nice condition with all the original windows and the full compliment of catwalks and ladders, and the interior is complete and in very good shape. Were looking forward to these projects.
Paul, that is great. Where will the cabooses be displayed? Thanks for saving a part of the Frisco for us to enjoy. Terry
Re: Slsf 1235/bn 11563 - 1983 They will be displayed SW of Tulsa on a strip of land that has the original SLSF Tulsa-Ft Worth mainline at the west border, and the east side of the property borders Route 66. Its about 4miles from where 4500 is displayed and on the same road. The cabooses will be stored under a canopy behind chain link. There will be parking at the location from Route 66. I live near the location and my phone number will be on the chain link gate and anyone who wants to see them up close can call and someone will open the gate. I am currently negotiating the purchase of one more 1200 class caboose so I could have an as delivered brown painted caboose displayed as well. Im excited about this project and I look forward to warmer weather !
