Can anyone direct me in getting my hands on these maps? I'm trying to get maps from Wichita north to Ellsworth, and some other Kansas towns not on the Frisco.
Matt, Try your local library. Since you are in the Kansas City metro, consider getting a Mid-Continent Public Library card. They have many of the Digital Sanborn Maps (black and white only) on line for all states, with multiple published dates. Some small towns may not have been surveyed. Please see http://www.mymcpl.org/online-resources/research-databases/Genealogy. As an alternative, visit the MCPL Midwest Genealogy Center branch at 3440 S. Lee's Summit Road, Independence, MO 64055-1923. They have the maps on microfilm. Information on obtaining a MCPL library card is located at http://www.mymcpl.org/about-us/frequently-asked-questions#How can I get a library card? Answer. Hope this helps. Thanks! Mark
Matt, for Kansas Sanborn Maps check out this link: http://www.kshs.org/research/collections/documents/maps/sanborn/index.htm Our local library (Kansas City, Missouri) has Sanborn maps for parts of Kansas and Missouri on the web, and the only cost is obtaining a library card (It is available only to Kansas and Missouri residents).
