Pullman began producing the Chocolate blankets in 1907. A blanket numbered 17 would have been produced 17 years later in 1923. The "S" indicates that a blanket was used on the fleet of Pullman-operated private cars. See the Robert Klara article "Woolen Wonders" from the summer 2003 Classic TrainsĀ® in the first link below. You will need to zoom in to about 500% so you can read it. The blanket has a hole below the Pullman emblem, a thin spot and an area with 3 small stitched up places. I have tried to show these in the photos. $75, or best offer, plus shipping. A similar blanket with many more defects is on Ebay for $249.99.
