    Hello Frisco Fans,
My name is Winston BeLisle. I'm planning on dong a HO scale model railroad layout of the line between Senath & Kennett, Mo. I had ordered the railway layout from the Frisco Railroad Musuem in Springfield sometime ago. I'm sorry to hear that they are no active any longer as I thoroughly enjoyed getting there magazine here and reading it. I remember, growing up, going to the Senath Depot for Boy Scout meetings. I really was impressed with the telegraph system there when we were learning how to use morse code in the Scouts and seeing how the operation was run there.
If you have any information about the railway line between those cities, I'd appreciate some historical pictures/information of that line between those cities.
Thanks for allowing me to join this organization.l

    Winston -
Welcome to the group! I have a co-worker down the hall from me who is a native Kennettian and who is acquainted with Ken Johnson (a longtime insurance agent in Senath).

I think you've picked a superb modeling topic. The Leachville Sub line between Brooks Jct. and Leachville AR (with Senath in between) is a very modelable line, and the traffic density won't break the bank in terms of acquiring motive power and rolling stock. There was only one scheduled turn in 1952 between Kennett and Leachville: south on M/W/F, and north agani on Tu/Th/Sa.

If you use the "search" feature and type in "Senath," you'll find several links, including photos of the depot. Additionally, Karl Brand has posted plans of the Frisco's standard depots that should fit the bill for modeling the depot.

What timeframe do you plan on modeling?

    Best Regards,
