I grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. In my early teens I would walk the two or three miles over to Lenexa to watch the Frisco trains pulling the grade out of KC along turkey creek on their way through Lenexa. That was back in the early sixties. More recently, I owned a house on the double tracks in Fort Scott, KS. I was only there for three years, but I saw a lot of action! I was also "van driver Jon" for a few months for the crews out of Fort Scott. I loved it, but I couldn't take the 'on call' hours.
In between those periods of my life I've taken photos and videos of trains at various locations, mostly in eastern Kansas and enjoy that a lot. My interest in Microsoft Train Sim led me to this forum. Earlier today I downloaded some add-ons from Friscorr.com which I believe is a sight run by Grung69, as he's known on this forum. I've been following links from here for about 4 or 5 hours! I can see that this could consume the rest of what's left of my life if I'm not careful.
I'll be checking in from time to time-

    Welcome Aboard, Jon.

You are correct, this "site" will consume you if you are not careful.

I feel like Charlie on the MTA.

Jon, Welcome Aboard! Glad to have you as another Frisco fan! Dive in and become absorbed - the water is very refreshing and soothing!

Hey, if you ever think that you would rather get some hands-on on a real operating HO layout as opposed to the virtual world, we have the guy here that will fix you up. Just let us know - Rick McClellan is very accomodating and he is not that far from Lawrence! Just do a search using his name or Northern Division and you'll get some kind of idea what I'm talking about.
