Do any of you reading this have any photographs of the area of the Frisco line crossing Sloan's creek and the Missouri Utilities Power plant near the north edge of Cape Girardeau, Mo.? I was raised right north of Sloan's creek and our propery abutted the Frisco tracks where a switch and sidetrack took off to a sawmill, foundry and threshing machine factory and I watched your switch engine put cars on this sidetrack many times. During the family's absence our house was burglarized and all of our pictures went along with much of our furniture and that is why I am making this request.

Thanks for any help possible, Henry Phelps.

    Henry:
Here are a few links to photos that I took on 12-26-1994.

This view looks south from the north end of the Sloan Creek bridge (looking at the north RR floodgate; you can see part of what I think is the old Missouri Utilities Bldg. above the levee on the right:

    View from the NE side:

I'm not sure about the girder bridge but I'm guessing the approach spans were replaced in the late 1970s (based on the steel I-beams under the ties).

I found your description of the businesses/industries and the switcher interesting. For any maps that I've viewed previously, I've not looked any further north than the old shoe factory. I'll want to take a closer look the next time I have a chance.
