With all the posts about St. Louis I thought I would mention a couple of old books with a lot of railroad information for St. Louis which I recently stumbled into on Google Books. It should be possible to locate (and download if desired) the books using the following information.

THE RAILWAY AND RIVER SYSTEMS OF THE CITY OF ST. LOUIS ( 1880: Frisco history is given beginning on page 226)

REPORT OF ENGINEERS COMMITTEE: ST. LOUIS-EAST ST. LOUIS RAILROAD TERMINALS ( 1922: Vast amount of information about all the area railroads at that date.)

About the only problem I have with Google Books is their absolutely ridiculous refusal to unfold and scan maps and other pages which are "oversized." Other than that the books are great, and for most of us otherwise unavailable... plus they are free, at least if you have high-speed service.
