  2. I had O gauge as a youth and loved it. A large layout. Kept me off the streets.
    As an adult, I had a massive HO layout and loved it even more. Each sons and I
    had different railroad. Chuck had SF, Greg had U.P. , Jeff had Cotton Belt
    and I had Frisco. Grandmother had taken the Gulf Mobil & Ohio for decades each
    summer to Mississippi to see her mother. So we got her a GM&O passenger set.

    We moved several times, the kids became adults [then no grand kids]
    and my professional life became weekly being on Delta and NW airlines
    for a decade. So we boxed up all models and put them in storage, and kept moving more.
    I loved modeling and looking at both! So I will post here what is new in O gauge since
    many HO members can do that in their blogs.

    Where were these things when I was still in O-gauge scale?

  5. Yep, I agree. Seems to have more with the Frisco roadname.

    Many decades ago, most O gauge seemed to be mostly toy trains for kids.
    Their still here, but now there is so much more.
    Hard for me to comprehend what is now available. Steam locomotives with
    very high of accurace, correct details, exceptional realism via many electronic features.
    This one here has 36 features, the latest in LEGACY and Bluetooth control, sounds,
    electronic and smoke effects.

    I am not so certain that the MTH items will come to fruition; MTH went out of business and if I remember correctly, ScaleTrains bought all the tooling within the past year.

    Atlas bought the MTH Premier line ,( or parts of it) and have already announced the production of some of them.

  9. To me here is what it sounds like at MTH.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I signed up for their E-mail notices.
    For 2022 they had 51. ~ one per week.
    For 2023, they have sent out 12 already.
    All were for New Releases coming soon.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    https://www.mthtrains.com/about

    MTH restructured in 2021.
    Owner retires. He sells HO tooling and a few other things.

    Sells their company's facilities.

    Each major department/division becomes their own company.

    Three new companies: Parts, Research, MTH.
    Each has their own location. They will still work together.
    Each company also can do business with other model
    railroad manufacturers.

    2022-2023.
    ~ Same key management.
    Less direct employees.
    More contract workers
    [some of which were their prior employees].

    Partnering: Working with other companies on some joint

    interests. Perhaps then MTH can manufacture those.
    They have w
    orked with Lionel and others before.
