I grew up in southwest st. louis, attended lindenwood grade school and southwest high school. my dad was a frisco engineer until he passed away in 1949... his run was from union station to newburg I believe, he never did get into the diesels only the steam engines.... I spent many a sumner getting chased by the railroad dick in and around the lindenwood yards.... fyler bridge was still up and there was not a interstate hgwy in those days.. as a matter of fact, the house i lived in was torn down when they built the I 40 highway... i have dabbled at building a HO layout but didn't get to far.. since i have moved up to the NW i enjoy fly fishing as a hobby, but i still enjoy watching the trains when ever i can.... i do enjoy seeing the many old photographs of the area around the lindenwood yards and fyler bridge....
