actually this journey began, when i ran across a mention of the at & n, being an "s" scale modeler, i have
since been trying to locate photos of their freight car roster, just prior to being purchased by "the frisco",
as of this date, 100% strike out rate, apparently the at & n had a fairly large freight car roster, but for
some unknown reason, the photographers who photographed the at & n, were not interested in peserving
this aspect of the railroad, matter of a fact this problem also occurs with other southern railroads, where
what photographs have been preserved reflect motive power only, and occasionally passenger equipment,
so this is a new venture into what has turned out to be a lengthly trip so far

Busy for a few moments there but back with more for you....

I am of the SAME mind as you on this. This is the same for me and Quanah, Acme and Pacific. I would be interested in commissioning a special run of shortlines that became part of the Frisco; QA&P, AT&N, and NEO for example. I have spent countless hours scouring the net for pictures of boxcars, etc., of these roads and it is totally without success for the most part.

    See this thread.

    Welcome Mel!

When I do any model railroading... it is in S. Unfortunately, I'm having decal availability issues for my chosen theme... so I'm kind of stuck until I figure something out.

Arrggghhh... forgot to put up a couple of pics of some S scale Frisco stuff of mine.

    Here goes:

First up is an SHS brand SW that I detailed (a bit... it's mostly stock) and painted/decaled/weathered.

Next is a work-in-progress based on an American Models S-12 Baldwin that I am modifying into Frisco's DS 44-1000 number 241.

S scale is a fantastic scale, but a bit more work and a bit more frustrating (lack of models/supplies) than HO or the more popular scales.

    Have fun!

Mel - I will add my 'Welcome' as well. Always glad to see another fan from this part of the world.
I was holding out - hoping that Tom Holley would come up with an extensive pile of "Q" photos and such that he knew about from a friend.

Lots of smaller Southern Rail Roads and short lines are hard to find info on.
I guess that is just the way the cookie crumbles.

I do not think I have any AT&N pictures, but I do have QA&P pictures on my photo list for Frisco rolling stock. E-mail me at renapper@centurylink.net and I will send it to you.
