Richard, I thought my post was clear. It is the decoder's responsibility to respond to the F8 command that is sent out on the rails. My experience has primarily been with Soundtraxx sound decoders. It is my understanding that some sound decoders besides Soundtraxx Tsunami allow you to re-map the functions to respond to different F commands than standard. This is particularly helpful if one sets up the functionality of the braking function in Tsunami decoders but wish to use a different key to apply or release the brakes.

    Richard and All:

For what it's worth and as further clarification to Richard's original concern, I did a test and with my EasyDCC System all of the functions 0-12 perform to the corresponding factory set features on my Tsunami decoders. As Keith has pointed out, they can be remapped if one desires to do so.
