In the mid-1980s Model Die Casting (MDC) put out a 5-car commemorative set of Frisco 40' box cars in the 27000 number series. These are based on MDC's 1074 kit. Price on the box is $4.25. Three of the cars are assembled, dullcoated and have Kadee #5 couplers. The unassembled cars are basically new in the box with the exception that the trucks and wheels have been painted. Make it $25 plus shipping.
Hi David. I have two of the cars, but not the other three. But at that price I would be interested in them all. Cannot remember how we have done payment in the past, though. Was it check?
Hey Andre, Yes, it was by check. I know I can safely pack 6 kits this size in a USPS medium flat rate box, $18.40 this year. That seems high as light as the kits are. I have an Amazon box that will also hold 6. Will take both with me to the PO to get you the best deal. Do you want to fill a box? I have other Frisco 40' and 50' box cars that have not been posted.
So there are six cars in the above deal? I only see 5? I probably need to just stay with the above cars and not add more.
The MDC set was 5 cars. Either shipping box I have will hold 1 more. I am trying to not be pushy. I have other Frisco, and other railroad box cars that have not been posted. Some are new in the box except that trucks and wheels have been painted. Some are new in the box.
