Got back form the Convention a few minutes ago. I had a blast. I enjoyed getting to meet more members of the web site. I really enjoyed the clinics. Also I got a GP38-2 and some cars. What did the rest of you think of it.

I too just returned home choosing to skip the round robin slide show this evening as I am just too tired. Speaking on behalf of those of us who put on the show and or gave clinics, the turnout exceeded our expectations.
I enjoyed talking with you Eathan and hope you enjoy your new locomotive and cars.
I plan on doing an article for the meteor and would like any of you that have comments to PM so that I can include them in the story. I took lots of pictures and will include some in the article and then post some on the site.
For those of you that were unable to attend plan on next year. Rick McClellan already has a team of 6 to 7 volunteers to plan and execute the next Frisco convention in Kansas City. At least 3 fellows asked me today when the next one will be so stand by, we will be working on it.
It was great to be able to put faces to names that I have known for years and see old friends. There were a few folks that couldn't come but I will tell you, you were thought of and missed. See you for Frisco Festival 2010.

Bob, I love the new stuff. I had to dig out some track to run it though. I haven't got to use it much yet because I had to mow the yard. Hope to here from every one else.

PS Unfortunately I wont be able to make it tomorrow.

Bill White just dropped me off at my home here in Lenexa - not far from the Frisco. We both remarked, all the way home, how much we enjoyed our day at the convention. Wonderful slides, clinical information, and just good conversation with folks I'd never met before.

Rick's presentation on his layout was outstanding. I can hardly wait for the next opportunity to visit and see it in person. After meeting him for the first time today, I found that, in addition to being a great modeler, he's extremely friendly and an inviting person - a great quality.

Andre's S-Scale switcher was amazing. It's one thing to see what he's accomplished on this web-site, but to see the actual model in-person, is pretty cool.

Everyone contributed with some very nice models and collectables to look at. I did come away with a couple of purhases to help the "Frisco modeling economy". Rick's wooden caboose kit will be the first modeling project I've started in a long time - probably decades.

Many thanks to Mr. Chambers and all who had a hand in making this convention a reality. I too am looking forward to next year's convention up in this part of the Frisco Lines.

Well, this was my first post to this site, and now that I've met several of you, I'll try not to be too bashful and contribute as many of you do on an ongoing basis.

My best regards to all -

    Bob McKeighan, Lenexa, KS

Thanks for starting this thread Ethan! Good to meet you yesterday!

As for the wife and I: We're home safe and sound from the FIRST FriscoFest. It was great meeting those of you that attended. Downside was that I wasn't able to get better acquainted with all that was in attendance. (I think the total head count was 52?)

Saw some neat stuff. Picked up lots of helpful hints during Richard Napper's clinic and also enjoyed Rick Mc's clinic. Good stuff was on the wall (Frisco slides!) when I returned from lunch, too.

The Saturday evening Slide Show was super! Saw LOTS of "things Frisco" I'd never seen before. After seeing all those awesome slides, the trouble is... I'm REALLY beginnin' to dig those race horses!!!! Wonder what one would look like in S scale?????

    What a Great Day!

It was good to connect with friends, both old and new.

Thanks to all of those responsible for putting this together.

I had a fantastic time - great meeting all. I picked up a few things, sold a few things but most of all enjoyed the comraderie. The slide shows were very enlightening; got some more weathering ideas, saw "new" motive power combinations, etc. Even heard a funny story about NW2 Switcher #262 which was nicknamed two-sixty-pooh after a crew member placed a Winnie-the-Pooh plush animal atop the firecracker antenna on its roof.

Also thought of lyrics for a song about 260Pooh to the tune of Sioux City Sue:
Two Sixty Pooh, Two Sixty Pooh,
that's the name they've given you,
    decorated by your crew.
Two Sixty Pooh, Two Sixty Pooh,
There's no one I'd rather crew,
than my sweet Two Sixty Pooh!
    Pardon me for that one....

I will have pix to post on a separate thread taken on our train ride today.
