Hello from Oklahoma

  1. Thought I'd introduce myself, and begin meeting the members. Most forums have a welcome thread, of sorts, and not finding one I thought I'd just start my own to say hi. I'm in Oklahoma, and mostly interested in the OKC-Tulsa and OKC-Cyril/Ft Sill routes. Incedentally, is there a map on the forum, I'm just getting interested in the Frisco, and really don't even know where they went to. I'm looking forward to reading your posts, and learning what I can. Incedentally, here's a picture I took a few weeks ago, on the old Frisco/BN/BNSF and now SLWC track, west of Oklahoma city crossing the Oklahoma River. Bridge dates to 1956.

Welcome to the forum. I don't have time to check in more than about once every few weeks, but there is some good stuff here. Check out the library for system maps. There are a couple that I have gotten here, but I don't have the link handy. I believe that it is in the general divisions category. If you have time, just browse through the library and see what you can find.

I am in Austin, TX, but I grew up in Oklahoma on the Frisco mainline between Tulsa and Dallas. My mom's younger sister was married to a Frisco conductor who did the run from Sherman, TX to Francis, OK. If you needed information on that part of the SW Division, I could help you out a bit more. I don't know too much about the part of the SW Division that went through OKC.

    Ship it on the Frisco!
