    GP7 SLSF 583

GP7 SLSF 583 and two sisters appear to be switching in Fall River, KS.

Note the caboose next to the engines, and the break between the boxcar and tank car.

    Photographer unknown.

    Slide is dated July 1968.

Edit 2/28/2024: Fall River, MP 426.4, is on the Wichita Subdivision. The train has been cut for the grade crossing at Merchants Avenue. Note the blind station sign on the south side of the tracks, adjacent to and to the right of the locomotive's pilot.

With the caboose on this end it is presumed the train is an eastbound. It appears the engines have made a run around move to facilitate switching. Before continuing on the locomotives will return to the other end of the train.

Photograph was taken next to the feed and grain elevator, just east of Traders Avenue. View looking east.
