Associates Notes 1) Wore original BN scheme throughout BN era. 2) Repainted BN Pinstripe scheme. 3) Never wore SLSF number or painted Mandarin orange and white. 4) SLSF 791 was the last engine painted Mandarin orange and white, it was renumbered SLSF 3100 in Mandarin orange SLSF-style numbers prior to release from EMD. On 1/31/1981 it was renumbered BN 3100 in black numbers to avoid confusion. 5) Cost $740,000 each. 6) As built they were rated at 3500 hp, BN later de-rated them to 3200 hp and eventually 3000 hp. They were reset to 3200 hp prior to going to the Indiana & Ohio in late July 1997. 7) All released by BNSF at Topeka, KS on 7/21/1997.
