I like having Frisco.org on facebook, but the site gets little traffic. The MoPac, BN, and Katy sites get tons of traffic. The difference is that on those sites people can post images and things of interest on the main pages newsfeed and its very interactive. The Frisco.org site allows people to post images but they are hidden from the newsfeed and are sent to an obscure location on the side bar for nobody to see, and we only see what the site manager posts......great pics but the format is boring. Please have a look at the Abandoned Rails site or the BN site and check out how they are formatted so we can draw more visitors and more interaction. I posted a great pic on Frisco.org tonite and the only likes it has gotten are from people that see my own personal feed, and nobody else has seen it. just a thought, I have found several great Frisco pics on the BN site because people upload images to it daily. thanks ! If users could upload images to the Frisco site, our collection would grow by leaps and bounds !

    Paul,

I am not aware that people can't post to the site/newsfeed. I think people have posted images. I will have to look.

Just my personal opinion, but, I see the Facebook presence only as a way to drive people to the forum and the Frisco Archive. I would hate to spread out what we are doing too far. For example, people post comments about Frisco Archive pictures on Facebook but I never read them as I don't have time. If people post corrections to information posted on the Frisco Archive, I never see it.

I will look tonight (as I can't access Facebook from work) to see what the settings are.

    Charlie

Like Charlie I would prefer to see photo content, and any other Frisco content appear on this site or in the Frisco Archive. For some reason, another group has developed on Facebook under the group tag Ship It On The Frisco and folks are posting pictures and information there that they aren't posting here. It keeps some content from getting here, some history from being documented here and the content there isn't as high resolution as it can be here.

Thanks Keith, I had not seen that site before, I joined the site and it is formatted just as the other sites I referenced. I love the site, the photo sharing is great, found a few more caboose pics for my archive. Like you say some of the pic resolution is not great, but a lot of those images were taken by a teenager with his moms instamatic camera.....at least he took the images, I'm glad to see them. Some of the pics posted there were taken from here, and from ebay. Photo sharing seems to be the norm on internet sites. Paul
