David Roeder had a nice model of Frisco Railcar #2900 on display at the Railroad Prototype Modeler's meet in Collinsville, IL on August 5-6, 2011.
Keith, that is a dandy, and the first I've ever seen of any such beast! I fear that his divisional facts are a bit off ("The FRISCO River Division, based in Springfield...), but is probably only obvious to Frisco Folk. Best Regards,
Did the RR have such vehicles? I know Roy Rogers and Dale Evans did drive "woodies" in their movies. Tom
. The car number 2900 makes no sense. I have studied and operated SLSF track cars for 22 plus years. The "RC" designator dates back to at least the mid '20's. Cars were numbered consecutively with the 2600 series being the end. My current car, RC 2600 12 was built March, 1980. Merger was just 8 months away and I suspect the order of which my car was part of was among the last placed by Frisco. Always open to correction but I have no knowledge of Frisco ever having a car such as this (aside what the AT&N operated) and the number is odd. Jeff Cooney
I have heard that David has, in the past created things for the sake of creation - a sort of what if? This is probably one of those cases.
