Hello, Just found this site. My wife and I just got our 1920's frisco wooden cboose moved after over a year. It was just 1 1/2 miles from our home. I am in the process of restoring it. I would like to know more information on this one. The number on it is 801. Any help? I love restoring anything railroad. Have restored a baggage wagon and two ATSF benches. Happy to have others of same interest.

  2. Looks like a bit of work on your hands. I searched my grandfathers photos for the 801 but no luck. to start I would replace the old rotten siding. I too like to restore railroad items I have a Missouri Pacific small flat bed used to haul railroad ties to track gangs and Frisco scale. I wish i could have a frisco caboose gust better start saving those pennys.

    Good Luck,
    Murph J.

Here's a shot of it in the mid-late '40s on a freight between Tulsa and Sapulpa, OK taken by Preston George. This will help with the lettering. For a color sample, go to Auto Zone and buy a can of Duplicolor red sandable primer. It's a dead ringer.

    Hope this helps.
