Festus, MO depot from local historian.

I believe the foundation might still be visible today, so I will go check on that.

This is actually the Festus, MO depot of the Mississippi River and Bonne Terre (MR&BT) Railroad.

    Festus MO.

Following the tracks from the top of the picture you can see the footbridge over the tracks, then the depot, then the freight house right at Mill Street.

You can barely make out the coal dump next. On down the line you can see the siding that was originally for Festus Pressed Bricks but on this picture it is serving Standard Oil.

In later days before the siding was ripped up it delivered utility poles for Union Electric. Just a little further south to the right of the tracks, which is to the North, you see a warehouse. I know there was a siding on this side as well. I am not sure if you can see the switch there or not.

Interstate 55 now goes over the tracks at the bottom of this picture.

    Date unknown.

This is the foundation for the freight house.

    Nothing remains of the depot.

    The footbridge accross the tracks.

    Foot bridge.jpg

Frisco freight heading north out of Crystal City, MO. This is at Moore Street and Fifth Street.

The siding is the house track for the depot.

You can see the footbridge at the rear.

Edit 3/19/2024: Note in this image GP7 SLSF 606 has a Pyle National Gyralite oscillating light added above the lowered front headlight.

Indeed, northbound train No 808 with an E7A (EA7) on point.

Early 1950s to mid 1950s to be sure.
