Ever hear of the Charles A. Wickersham (aka Royal Palace), an A&WP Five double bedroom-Lounge-Observation that ran the SR "Crescent Limited" and later the "Gulf Wind." Well, for a short time in 1957, it ran on THE TEXAS SPECIAL! See conductor's sheet attached. Anyone know for sure why/how this car got on the Texas Special?

    Tom

PS: The conductor report shows the engines as two Frisco E-units spliced with a Katy F7-B!

Yeah! I'm very familiar with the car. I came close to buying it from the Gulf Coast Community College in Panama City, FL some years ago. It's still around nearly fully restored. Contact me at maunsel.white@mchsi.com for a fuller story.
