    Hello all,

My name is Derrick and I've been a rail fan since I was a young kid. I've been an avid fan of Trainz a virtual model railroading program since 2004. It's a fantastic and addicting way to build the layouts of your dreams without finding the space or the financial investment.

My latest project is the prototypical Frisco Highline route between Clinton, Mo and Bolivar, Mo. I've used digital elevation data to accurately recreate the topology of the area along with topo maps that accurately place the abandoned mainline.

I would like to find maps that show junctions, sidings, single/double track, etc for the Frisco Highline. I thought this forum might be a good place to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

For those that are not familiar with the Trainz software I attached a couple of pics.

Welcome Aboard, Derrick. We have a number of V-scalers on the forum. The first that comes to mind is Andre Ming (coonskin), and I think Tom Lindsey (frankoburns) is involved with virtual railroading as well. Karl Brand (Karl) is well versed on the Highline as are others including Dale Rush (trainsignguy).

Thanks for the names. I'm just starting to explore this forum and I've already found some very interesting stuff.

Hi Derrick and welcome. Clinton to Bolivar in Vscale on Trainz sounds awesome. I wanna try it!!! I used to operate on MS Train Simulator, but haven't fired it up in quite awhile. I never tried building anything with MSTS but would like to have modeled the entire Clinton Sub. Andre Ming "coonskin" is an avid and accomplished MS builder and is on this forum a lot. As Keith mentioned in his previoius post, Karl Brand "Karl" knows more about this line and has more information on this line than anyone I know.

I am now modeling KC - Clinton to Bolivar - Springfield in N scale on a 14' x 16' two deck layout and am located in Carthage, MO. I grew up around Clinton and Blairstown, my wife is from Harrisonville, my grandparents were originally from Osceola and Bolivar and my grandpa worked for the Frisco, mostly around Clinton so I have a bunch of interest in this line.

There is a lot of information on this site. Track plans, photos of depots, etc. Best way to find anything here is to do a search for the town name you are interested in and have fun browsing. There is also a website http://www.missouridepots.com/ that is loaded with photos of hundreds of Missouri depots that may helpful.

I have collected a lot of information on the line too. I would be glad to answer any of your questions (or try). You may also contact me offline at rush@ecarthage.com.

Thanks for the offer and info Dale. I've already checked out one of your older threads with your N scale layout plans. Looks really nice. I always thought modeling Union Station would be a fun challenge.

Nice looking SD's! What version of TRAINZ do you use? (How did you do the lineside weeds? They are great!) You will find a wealth of diagrams here. There is a huge wealth of information on your line of interest so searches will get you what you want. Welcome to the group.

I'm using TS2009. The weeds were created by another user. Actually most of the over 25 gigs of content I have were created by other users, was free, and included in the copy of the game. That's why I'm a Trainz supporter over Microsoft RS. The amount of content available is just awesome. Sometimes looking and hunting for new content is just as fun as the game its self. I feel like a kid at my local model railroad store searching every nook and cranny for that special item and being able to take home 1/2 the store if I wanted. When your were a kid you could only walk the isles of the store and dream.
