I did the torque compression stuff and it worked great. Now the two units run excellent together. I was finally gonna run an op session, but none of my road power was working correctly (got more speed matching to fix) but I don't feel like doing that tonight so I'll put it off till maybe tomorrow night.

Ethan; You don't NEED a computer in your layout room but having the Decoder Pro program to use when you program your locos is sooooooooo easy you will wonder how you did it without it. Plus the program has throttles that you can run and do all the same things your Power Cab can do...all on the computer screen.

I like your spirit when it comes to learning and programming the old fashion way, but once you use a modern convenience like Decoder Pro you will be having more fun in a shorter amount of time. It is like the difference between using a phone booth with a 3 foot cord versus texting or talking with your cell phone.

The SB3a was designed for your Power Cab and the DB105 was designed for use as a power district for the Power Pro. I would call NCE and talk with Larry before you tried using the DB105. That is all I will say about that choice. It is always better to use the items that were made to work together. Have fun and let me know how you are doing with you matching.
