I think the E-units weren't ever used after the KC-Springfield train was cut off.

I've been looking for same source as you, had it copied someplace. Way is presented is like want a black & white answer to a like question and doesn't come that simple? Chicks could have walked to KCUS in this amount of time.

I have looked at the available timetables (snagged from posted info)

May 9, 1955 (still operating passenger service) shows SB leaving at Clinton Jct at 10:27 am, leaving Clinton (depot I'm guessing) at 10:30/10:45 and then leaving Clinton Jct at 10:50. Not sure of the s in front of 10:30. And the NB leaving Clinton Jct at 2:01pm, leaving Clinton at 2:06/2:36 and leaving Clinton Jct at 2:51. So the North bound spends a little more time, presumably to pickup the chicken cars from the team track.

By September 18, 1965 (only mixed train service between KC and Clinton) SB leaves Clinton Jct at 8:15 am, arrives at Clinton at 8:40 and North Clinton (the yard) at 8:50. NB leaves North Clinton at 12:30pm, leaving Clinton at 2:30, and leaving Clinton Jct at 2:33. These are marked as daily.

Since the crews leave KC (1965) at 4:30am, I would assume, it would be a different crew going back north since it arrives in KC at 7:00pm. What the heck was going on from 8:50am and 12:30pm beats me. Maybe assembling the consist to go back north?

If I revert back to my original question, I guess the answer may be no, if they did not use the E-units on the mixed trains in 1964 or 1965.

I might just have to change that in my version of reality; or not.

Changing my own idea of history may be in call also because I came in and out of Grandview in that part of life when passenger trains came to end and then when Clinton to Springfield was no more. It's been awhile! But too the Frisco was going from two trains a week to a final one down then one back on another day. Wish were more photos of trains on High Line as I was in the GP7 generation of things and if not for baggage cars trains would have been short!

The photos I have seen of trains 58 and 59 have them running behind a VO1000.
