Hello I'am a nubie at this site .
Just found it a couple hours ago looking for info on first release proyo 2k.
I'm not new to modle railroading been in it sence jan. 1983.With my son who now has moved out and left me on my own.We had a nice layout 14x28 ft. Ho scale. Of course it wasn't finished they never are. Right!!
We lost the layout to Katrina along with every thing else. House ,shop, tools eqpt ect. we're plugin away getting rebuilt house is liveable not finished but liveable. shop has 4 walls and roof bare studs and joist for now but its dry. Yeaa!! still have lots to do but we're thinking about a layout again.
we're in south Mississippi the Golden Gulf Coast.
our old layout was the "Southern Bay Line" Fictional run between Tallassee & Texas .
Don't know what we'll do this time. I'm retired and have 1/2 my shop to build a layout 32x40 Ft.
Don't know what else to put in here so feel free to ask questions

Welcome to the form. I see that you like the south (east). The Frisco had a couple lines in that area. A line out of Pensacola and a line out of Mobile (I think). Any who the info is here on the web site, and it should be fairly easy to find. Here is the link to the southern division of the frisco form. http://www.frisco.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=117

Take some time and browse the Layouts forum here:

There were lots of ideas thrown into a compendium of interesting areas on the Frisco to model. yardmaster is working on a "catalog" of the ideas. The one thing I would suggest is plan a layout that will allow you to OPERATE your as a real railroad - that's what will keep you interested in sticking with it. Using around the wall benchwork will make it easier to build and work on. See Rick McClellan's layout as an example here:

Welcome aboard, and you live in a wonderful part of the country (natural perils notwithstanding). We have good friends in Waveland - we visited them in 2007 when they had the grand reopening of their house - and my in-laws spent a couple of weeks renting a house in Biloxi in January.

With 32x40, there should be a nice amount of space available to model a variety of locales.

    Best Regards,
