For anyone on the old Frisco River Division from Chaffee north to St.Louis, a BNSF passenger train passed through Chaffee about 3:30 PM. There were 5 or 6 streamlined cars on it headed north.
A couple years ago I saw a SD40-2 leading 5 streamlined cars on the Ft. Scott sub between Lamar and Iantha. And year before that I saw one passenger car on a coal train. And last year I was headed to school when a small train came through. It was a C44, a streamlined car and a steel heavy weight business car.
That was a Memphis to St. Louis Officers Special. No idea why they are running the River Sub. It hasn't flooded this year yet so maybe they are taking one last look before Old Man River rises. Steve.|-| BNSF Been Nothing Since Frisco
It went by 3 times Sunday 4/25 on the Cuba sub. It was westbound in the morning, eastbound in the mid-afternoon and westbound again around dinner time. Stainless steel, lightweight, flute-sided cars named Mountain View, Glorieta, Lake View (I think) and a full-length dome named Glacier View. Glacier View also had a full width and height rear window. There was at least one car that looked like a baggage car, but probably was for power. I did not catch the locomotive, but it had a BNSF "pumpkin" paint scheme.
