Ever heard of the song 'Ballad of the Frisco Lines'? I know some of you have and will agree it is a great song. I had the pleasure of having the composer. Lee Monroe, as a friend and fellow Frisco modeler. The link below will take you to a recording Lee made for me in 1983. It consist of Lee speaking for about 5 minutes or so and then the song for a total of almost 11 minutes. Some might find the first part a tad bit boring but Lee gives great insight as to sharing within the hobby. Lee was an instructor at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff and along with other faculty members of the college provide the vocals and instrumentation. The sound quality is not great but it will do. I have the printed music around here somewhere.

Mr. Monroe has worked on many high profile projects both as a professional musician and music copyist. Lee Monroe attended Lake Sumter Community College in Leesburg, Florida for 2 years and later went on to attend Florida State University as a Music Major. He considers his greatest professional achievement to be the development of Express Music Services.

  4. Use to here a song on the local radio station. It was about the Sunnyland (?)
and how it would leave Memphis and arrive in St. Louis and it was always on time.|-|
