All these photographs are from the collection of Bud Laws and are used by permission.

Also, most of these images have written details about the particular locomotive. I will place that information on here as well.

Some of what is written I do not understand. Those will have a question mark (?) at the end.

You may email me for more details.

I also have a few other shots, if I can get permission, I will post them here.

I could use a little help with this one. It is either Enid, OK or Arkansas City, KS.

Does anyone out there know which location this is?

I am missing some of my images and need to track them down. Here are the details I have.

2-10-0 SLSF 1617. Alco (Richmond), builders number 58831, built February 1918, class T-51.

Taken either in Enid, OK, August 31, 1938 by G(?). R. Wood or
Arkansas City, KS, August 29, 1939 by Ralph Graves - Enid, OK

    Photograph dated 1938.

  2. Don Hofsommer's book The Quanah Route confirms that the SLSF 1617 was at one time leased by the Quanah, Acme and Pacific (QA&P), page 118.

On page 66 of Joe Collias's Frisco Power is a photograph of the SLSF 1617 in QA&P paint, with what appears to be an oil tender. The caption states that the photograph dates from 1950.

The loco diagram linked in this thread appears to indicate that the SLSF 1617 was one of the oil burners in the 1600 class.
