The closest I ever lived to the Frisco was 1 summer at Sunrise Beach MO back in the 60's. Have always liked the Ship It The Frisco boxcars and cabooses. Have rode behind Frisco #1630 at Illinois Railway Museum. Glad they got it running again.

Dan - Welcome to the group! Where are you from in Indiana? We lived in West Lafayette in 1967-1968 while I was in grad school at Purdue. Our son Kurt was born there.

The Frisco was a great railroad, glad you are interested in it. While at Purdue, I became a bit enamored with "The Hoosier Line", aka the Monon. Also an appealing railroad! While we were there, the Monon gave up on passenger service. I remember going over to "Shops" in Lafayette one Friday evening in 1967 to take a look at all their passenger equipment which they stored there for a while.

While they won't quite "kill you with kindness" here, you might think you're in heaven! Thanks for enriching the group even further, Dan.

Welcome to the fun, Dan. Have you been to Sunrise Beach since you lived there? I suspect it's changed a bit!

    Best Regards,
