- Started Frisco MOW 1973 for 38 years service.
I started on Frisco RR MOW in July of 1973 in Pacific MO, one month after marrying my wonderful wife of this many years. She has stood beside me and encouraged me through a great career with the Frisco, BN and finishing with BNSF.
I never thought the Frisco would get that big (haha)
I've had the privilege of working, riding, walking or highrailing in every portion of the Frisco.
I remember the Frisco RR as being more of a family rather than a corporation. We worked hard, played hard, knew each other and we're treated respectfully unless you were a slacker. Slackers didn't last long. (Don't know how I made it, haha)
I had a great career as Trackman Labor, Track Equipment Operator, SEO Operator, Asst Foreman and then to management from Asst Roadmaster to Asst. Director of Production. I retired in Memphis TN after completing the construction project on the Memphis Intermodal Facility for which I received a Presidental Employee of the Year Award. A great RR career but it would not have been without The SLSF, Frisco Railroad.Interact
