Yes, Richard, Keith, and I are teaming up to bring Frisco decals to life. It will take some time, but they will be done. That's all I'm going to say here because I don't want to hi-jack the thread.
I ordered Decals (with Post Money Order) in Aug/12 and received No Shipment. I used to get great service, but have not ordered for 3 or 4 years. I used some OB decals this week....they are great products. They will be missed. Rex
Maybe he is back up and running? Wouldn't hurt to contact him about past orders due. Got this from a Mo-Pac Yahoo list: "all decals 50% off stock and save, please send cash http://mopac1.tripod.com/oddballs3.htm Tom Stolte owner of Oddballs Decals [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] List Owner Tom Stolte - mopac12@gmail.com "
Cash only. How convenient. No record, no canceled check. You know... trust him. Nice. STAY AWAY PEOPLE... STAY FAR AWAY!!!
I hope Tom is sincere and we can get his quality decals again. If anyone orders any and receives them please inform the group.
I would say the time to start sending cash is after all outstanding (non-cash) orders have been filled. He still owes me product from when he pooped out last year. GS
I posted it as there are some members who ordered from Tom and never got anything. I thought a little heads up was in order since Tom's record keeping probably isn't the best and it would appear that he is back up and running. If you never paid for an order that never arrived, then you aren't missing anything.
I'm not 100% sure about this but I believe that Tom is either the list owner or moderator of the Missouri Pacific Yahoo Group or maybe both. This may also apply to the Frisco Yahoo Group.
Tom is the list owner/moderator of both MoPac Yahoo groups (MoPac and MoPac Modeling). The Frisco group is pretty much dead. Not sure who the list owner is of that one.
I would advance that the Yahoogroup for the Frisco is somewhat redundant. This is THE place for things Frisco, bar none. We are all very fortunate to have this site!
Tom is the owner of the frisco group as well. He created it when the old nshore list devolved into a museum bashing group.... Paul
So-o-o is he or ain't he back in business? Anybody know for sure? Tom G. PS: He still owes me about $10 worth of decals...
To put this to bed... according to someone close, Tom is not in a position to deliver anything that he can't confirm that he has in stock. I would not recommend sending cash for product from him in either case. His reputation has been destroyed by his own actions as a number of users on this site can verify.
Once upon a time in the West, deals were completed with a Handshake! In this electronic age, PayPal, ebay, credit cards, etc. have pretty well replaced the "Good Old Days". I sent a friend cash in a registered letter in 1999 that he never received. So much for honest postal workers too. I cannot conceive that Oddballs Decals is back in biz or makes a claim to be with so many pre-paid back orders still unfilled. I still think that a lawyer should be consulted and make contact with Oddballs Decals regarding all of his former customers who ordered products in good faith and paid for same in advance. He sold his products though the US Mail and if he doesn't respond a class action law suit should be filed on grounds of fraud! The fact that several members placed orders in excess of $100.00 means that this is no matter to be taken lightly. Having a lawyer contact him by letter and giving him one last chance to make good on his integrity and honestly with a cut off date, then file legal charges of fraud for using the postal system, accepting money and not delivering orders. If convicted he would serve time but he has had ample time to get his biz in order and folks, enough is enough. Sad but true and a pity to boot! Joseph Toth
